Questions people ask
Straight answers before you call
Is the call really free and confidential?
Yes. Calling is free, there's no obligation, and your conversation is private. We only share your information with a treatment provider when you ask us to.
How much does detox or rehab cost?
It depends on the type of program and your insurance. Many private insurance plans cover a large part of detox and rehab. We'll check your benefits for free so you know what to expect before you commit.
What if I don't have insurance?
We don't accept Medicare or Medicaid. If you're paying out of pocket, call us anyway — we'll explain self-pay rates and help you find low-cost programs in your area.
How quickly can I get into treatment?
Often within 24 hours, depending on your needs, location and insurance. If you're ready today, tell us — we'll move as fast as we can.
What should I have ready when I call?
If you can, have your insurance card, a list of any medications, and a rough idea of what substances are being used and how often. If you don't have these, call anyway.
Can I call for someone else?
Yes. Many of our callers are parents, partners and friends. We'll help you understand the options and how to talk to your loved one about getting help.
Who answers the phone?
Your call is answered by an admissions advisor who helps you understand treatment options and connects you with treatment providers. Advisors are not medical professionals; for emergencies call 911.
